Another Smart Dragon-3 launched in Shandong in one month

Early in the morning of Sept 9, the Smart Dragon-3 Y7, assembled in Haiyang, was launched from the sea off the coast of Shandong province. This launch is the second mission of the Smart Dragon-3 rocket within a month following the launch of Smart Dragon-3 Y6 on Aug 9, carried out to meet the rapid networking requirements of Geely's constellation, which marks the acceleration of the constellation networking process.

Geely Constellation is a global low-orbit satellite IoT constellation system independently developed, built, and operated by Zhejiang province's Geespace under Geely Holding Group. Its subsidiary, Geesatcom, located in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Demonstration Zone in Qingdao, is responsible for the constellation's construction and operation. It has established a global constellation operation center, a telemetry, tracking and control center, and an AI data operation center, accelerating the construction of a world-leading space-ground integrated satellite IoT demonstration project.
